REGINA
Originally named “Pile O’ Bones” after the abundant number of buffalo skeletons found by the first settlers. Princess Louise, daughter of Queen Victoria changed the city’s name in honor of her mother in 1882 when Regina became the capital of the North West Territories.
Regina has a population of 200,000 residents and remains an agricultural city, but has developed a sophisticated veneer, with many first class hotels, excellent restaurants and many interesting attractions. Regina is very accessible by air and land, with daily flights in and out of Regina, by major airlines Air Canada, West Jet, North West/Delta Airlines. The city is also served by major retailers like the Bay, Wal-Mart, Sears and many more for those interested in doing some shopping while visiting.
There are many festivals to choose from depending on the month you visit Regina. Among the annual events are Buffalo Days-The Provincial Exhibition, Canadian Western Agribition, Cathedral Village Arts Festival, Wintergreen and much, much more.
