ITINERARY

DAY 1 - Cairo
Arrival at Cairo airport. Our representative will meet you and assist with the transfer to your hotel. Overnight in Cairo.

DAY 2 - Cairo
This morning we drive to the Giza Plateau, we visit the great Pyramids of Giza and their guardian Sphinx, Memphis-first capital of the ancient kingdom to see the statue of Ramses II then to Sakkara to see the Step pyramid. Optional - Sound & Light show. See the Pyramids and the Sphinx illuminated at night; Overnight in Cairo.

DAY 3 - Cairo
This morning we visit the Egyptian Museum the world-renowned Museum of Egyptian Antiquities. Accompanied by your certified Egyptologist, you'll stroll through the halls highlighting each historical period of this ancient land. Overnight Cairo.

DAY 4 - Cairo - Aswan
This morning transfer to Cairo Airport for our flight to Aswan. Optional connect with a flight to Abu Simbel for half day sightseeing and return flight back to Aswan. Then you will be escorted to embark on the Nile cruise ship - your floating hotel for the next five days. After lunch, enjoy a tour visiting the High Dam. Just north of the border between Egypt and Sudan lies Aswan High Dam, a huge rock filled dam which captures the world's longest river, the Nile, in the world's largest artificial reservoir, Lake Nasser. Then visit the Unfinished Obelisk, located in the Northern Quarry. This obelisk would have been the largest ever erected if it hadn't cracked before it was fully quarried.You will also enjoy a short trip on a motorboat to Philae Temple, which will bring you to a magnificent vista of the island, The temple was dedicated to the goddess Isis and has many legends connected to it. The most well known legend tells the story of how Isis found the heart of Osiris here after his murder by his brother Seth. Overnight in Aswan on board.

DAY 5 - Aswan - Komombo - Edfo
Enjoy breakfast on board before cruising to Kom Ombo to visit the Temple. The Temple, dating to the Ptolemy, is built on a high dune overlooking the Nile. Kom Ombo is actually two temples consisting of a Temple to Sobek and a Temple of Haroeris Tonight enjoy a special costume party while sailing to Edfu. Overnight on board.

DAY 6 - Effu - Esna - Luxor
Early this morning explore the Temple of Horus, the falcon god. This morning soak up the atmosphere and culture of life on the Nile as we sail to Luxor. In the afternoon, visit Karnak Temple and Luxor Temples. Karnak was erected in 1928 BC as a small shrine dedicated to Amun, god of Thebes. Karnak is now the largest and oldest temple compound on earth. Overnight in Luxor on board.

DAY 7 - Luxor
Optional – Hot air ballooning over the valleys at sunrise. Disembark from the cruise ship this morning. Today explore the Necropolis of Thebes, the wondrous Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut's Temple, and the Colossi of Memnon. The Valley of the Kings in Upper Egypt is home to many pharaonic tombs of the New Kingdom, including those of King Tutankhamun and Ramses the Great. Next, tour the mortuary Temple of Hatshepsut, the only woman Pharaoh to rule ancient Egypt. The female pharaoh chose to build her temple in a valley sacred to the Theban Goddess of the west, on a direct axis with Karnak Temple of Amun on the East Bank. Then, proceed to the Valley of the Queens to visit the burials of some royal consorts and offspring. The Valley of the Queens (Biban Al-Harem) has between 75 and 80 tombs. These tombs belong to queens of the 18th, 19th and 20th Dynasties. Among these is the famous tomb of Nefertiti, one of the five wives of Ramses II. Nefertari was said to be Ramses' favorite wife, and her tomb is regarded by many as the most beautiful in Egypt. End the tour with a panoramic stop at the Colossi of Amenhutep III named the colossi of Memnon by the Greeks. Overnight in Luxor.

DAY 8 - Luxor - Sharm El Sheikh (Sinai - Red Sea)
Today you will be transferred to Luxor airport for your flight to Sharm El Sheikh where you will be met and escorted to your hotel. Overnight in Sharm.

DAY 9 - Sharm El Sheikh (Sinai - Red Sea)
Day at leisure, some recommended activities: deep sea diving, snorkeling, fishing, Golfing, water sports, Camel ride, desert safari and Bedouin tent. Overnight in Sharm.

DAY 10 - Sharm El Sheikh - St. Catherine
Start early morning and drive nearly 3 hrs to St. Catherine village to visit famous Monastery of Saint Catherine, which has been in existence in the depths of the Sinai desert since the sixth century. The Byzantine church has been preserved here since its construction in 542 AD. After the visit of the monastery, drive to Dahab village where lunch will be served. Overnight in Sharm.

DAY 11 - Sharm El Sheikh - Cairo
Transfer to the airport for your flight back to Cairo. Enjoy half day tour visiting not-to-be-missed the Khan Al-Khalili bazaar.

DAY 12 - Cairo - Alexandria
This morning travel to Alexandria, founded by Alexander the Great in 331 BC and Egypt's second largest city and main port, for a full-day tour. Explore the well-preserved ruins of the Roman amphitheater and Alexandria Library. After lunch at a local restaurant, see Fort of Qaitbey from the outside. Return back to Cairo in the early evening. Overnight in Cairo.

DAY 13 - Cairo
Transfer to the airport for your flight back home.
