Puerto Rico Flights
Puerto Rico is known as the island of enchantment. For many visitors, their experience in Puerto Rico begins in San Juan, one of the busiest ports in the Caribbean. Lying between the Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean sea, Puerto Rico is 1,000 miles southeast of Miami and 80 miles east of the Dominican Republic. Spanish and English are the official languages, and the population is 3.9 million people.

The average temperature in Puerto Rico in the winter is 73 degrees fahrenheit, and 85 degrees fahrenheit in the summer. Passengers arriving from US mainland or the US virgin islands need no documents. For those arriving on international flights, the same regulations apply as for arrivals in the US. On departure, be prepared to have luggage inspected by the US Department of Agriculture, as laws prohibit taking certain fruits and plants into the mainland.

Sightseers should be sure to see the historic highlights of Puerto Rico, for instance, El Morro fortress, built to protect the city in 1539. As well, Plaza de San Jose is a pretty place to stop for a cup of strong Puerto Rican coffee, or a drink made with Puerto Rico's own Bacardi Rum. The electricity is in the US standard, which is 110 volts, and visitors should be sure to encounter Puerto Rico's offshore islands, such as those in Dorafo and Fajardo.
