Nepal Trekking Tour
DAY 1 - Arrive Kathmandu Arrival Assistance transfer to Hotel. DAY 2 - Fly to Pokhara Pokhara-Phedi and trek to Pothana. (1990m) First flight to Pokhara. Arrive Pokhara around 9.30am. We will drive by car or bus (depending on group size) to Phedi (30 Minutes) and commence the trekking from. It is mostly steep uphill through forests and fields to Dhampus Village on the top of the ridge at 1750m. You will take your lunch in a local restaurant. Dhampus offers great mountain views that continue to improve as you ascend along the ridge. Brahmins, Chhetris and Guring ethnic community inhabit the village. You will follow the trail with paved stones through rhododendron forests steep uphill to Pothana (1990m) where you will stay overnight. You will have excellent views of Mt. Machhapuchhre (Fish Tail) from here. 5 hours trek.
The stone-paved trail climbs through forests to Deurali, atop a hill at 2150m, where there are views of Annapurna South and Hiunchuli. From here the trail descends steeply through forests with birds, ferns and orchids into a huge side canyons of Modi River. You will descend past a couple of guesthouses and restaurants at a Gurung Villages and cross a stream at 1790m. Now the trail gently climbs to bring you to Tolka Village at 1810m where you will eat at your lunch and then descends a long staircase to a suspension bridge across a stream at 1720m. Now, you will have a gentle climb to the ridge top followed by easy walk past streams, fields, cross the suspension bridge an finally arrive at Landruk–a Gurung Village for overnight stay. 6 hours trek. DAY 4 - Chomrong (2060m) The trail to the sanctuary heads north of the valley, passing along sides rice terraces and then through forests. The trail leads to Nayapul (1340m) and descends steeply to Samung, then crosses a stream at 1430m. A stiff climb leads to Jhin Danda Village (1750) where you will have lunch break and can make a side trip to Hot Spring. Further steep up is Tag lung, atop the treeless ridge at 2180m. The trail now is wider and better from here to Chomrong, which is a Gurungvillage with a number of guesthouses and hotels. There is tremendous view of Annapurna South, which seems to tower above the village and Mt. Fishtail across the valley. 6 hours trekking.
From the upper end of Chomromg Village, the trail descends the long stone steps and cross the suspension bridge over the Chomorong River from where you will climb the mountain flank and pass the hamlet and small inns till you reach the top of the ridge. From here you will follow a rocky path through the forested area until you come to Khurdi Ghar where you will have your lunch. After lunch, descend the stone steps and pass the check post and continue through the bamboo forests to Bamboo Lodge from where you will make a gentle ascent through the forested area and cross at least three steams. Soon you are in Dovan (2606m) where you will stay overnight. 7 hours walking. DAY 6 - Dovan- Machhapuchhre Base Camp (3703m) Now, the trail traverses high above the river but thanks to thick stands of bamboo that blocks the view of the rushing river and waterfall. After crossing a landslide and another avalanche track, you will reach Himalayan Hotel (2900m). Another an hour's walk, first on a rocky trail through forests, then up a steep ravine, brings you to Hinko at 3160m. Now the trail crosses a ravine and a major avalanche track and climbs through large boulders to Deorali (3230m) where you will stop for lunch. From Deorali, you will go to the river bank and follow the flank until you come to Bagal (3300m) where most altitude conscious trekkers halt the day. From Bagal, climb from the riverbank to the terrace, follow the path on the flank where big rhododendrons are growing and you will come to the end of the ridge. After crossing the stream, you will have a gentle climb before you reach Macchapuchre Base Camp (3703m). Total 7 hours walking. DAY 7 - Macchhapuchhre Base Camp-Dovan (4 hours) You will take easy walk down to Dovan. DAY 8 - Dovan-Chomrong (2060m). 5 hours walking down. Walk down to Chhomrong retracing the way of Day 5. DAY 9 - Chhomrong – Pokhara You will walk up to Chandrakot, and then come to Naudanda Drive to Pokhara. DAY 10 - Pokhara-Chitwan Drive to Chit wan national park. You will visit National park visitors centre, acquire the information's of flora & fauna from the park. You will visit Tharu village, a indigenous ethnic group from Chit wan. Then enjoy sunset view from the bank of the river.
AM: After breakfast, you will set out on a dog out canoe in Rapti River to watch the aquatic birds. If luck favors you, you will get to see the one of the endangered species of crocodiles-Gharial. The boat ride lasts for 30 minutes and you will visit the Elephant breeding camp, where you will have chance to play with the young elephant babies and learn how the elephants are captured in the wild, how they are tamed and trained to work for human beings. Option: After the canoe trip, interested people with prior arrangement can take jungle walk tour that lasts 3 hours. It’s a complete jungle walk trek on foot, guided by experienced jungle guides and safaris. Return to hotel in the afternoon. PM: After lunch, you will again go to explore the flora and fauna of the park on the elephant back! Great experience! Great One Horned Rhinoceros is the unmistakable sight. Other animals commonly seen are Sambar, Spotted deer and wild boars. DAY 12 - Kathmandu Departure Depart Kathmandu, and then connect with next flight.
