Huatulco Vacation Information:
Huatulco is centered around the town of La Crucecita and it is a tourist development. Located in the Pacific coast of Mexico and belongs to the state of Oaxaca, Huatulco’s tourism is concentrated in its nine bays. Accommodation of all kinds is available in the area, ranging from economy hotels to luxury resorts, ocean front villas, vacation condominiums etc.
The resort development in the area began in the 80’s, until then Huatulco was not very well known except for a coffee growing area. Tourists in addition to enjoying the beaches can explore and go shopping in the small communities of the area such as Santa Cruz, La Crucecita or Santa Maria Huatulco. Travelling to these areas can be done by taxi or bus. Huatulco has a "small town" feel and look to it, and is not a crowed destination for tourist, with exception to the Christmas holidays and around April for Good Friday week.
