La Romana:
La Romana is the third largest city in the Dominican Republic, and is home to some 250,000 people according to a census in 2005. La Romana is the capital city to the province of the same name and the most southeastern province of the country.
The city’s airport, La Romana International opened its doors in 2000 and is considered among the most modern in the country. La Romana’s reputation for hot vacation spot is growing due to its vicinity to resort spots such as beachfront resort Bayhibe, Casa de Campo and Dominicus, plus an ever growing number of golf courses that surround the site.
La Romana is not a typical Dominican city instead it is a commercial city with nearly 100% employment rate, most of its population works in the tourism industry.
