ITINERARY
Day 1 - Friday: Havana
Arrival to Havana. Transfer to your hotel. Package includes a minimum or 4* accommodation with breakfast daily. Upgrades to 5* Hotels available. Overnight in Havana.
Day 2 - Saturday: Havana – Guama – Trinidad
After breakfast, travel to Boca de Guama, and visit the National Park "Parque Montemar", the largest wetland reserve in Cuba, home to many endangered species of Flora and Fauna. One of the highlights is a visit to the Crocodile Farm, continue to the "Taino Indian Village" a reconstructed site dedicated to the Taino aboriginal Indians, Cuba's first inhabitants. Stop for lunch at a local restaurant and continue driving to Trinidad passing Santa Clara City, stop to visit Ernesto Che Guevara Square, hero of the Cuban Revolution, his body rests here back from Bolivia where he died. Upon arrival in Trinidad your Guide will transfer you to your Hotel. Dinner at your Hotel. Breakfast Lunch and Dinner included. Overnight in Trinidad.
Day 3 - Sunday: Trinidad
After breakfast, enjoy a city tour of Trinidad, declared a UNESCO World Heritage site, founded in 1514 is one of the most colonial Cities in Cuba, rich in history and architecture, visit the Museo Romantico a period family home built in the 19th century, Plaza Major, The Santisima Trinidad Church, and a pottery factory finish at La Canchanera Bar for a refreshing cocktail of the same name. Lunch at a local restaurant. Rest of the day at leisure. Dinner at the Hotel. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner included. Overnight in Trinidad.
Day 4 - Monday: Depart Trinidad – Camaguey
After breakfast check out of your Trinidad Hotel and depart for Manaca Iznaga, one of the few remaining State House Sugar Plantations, located in the Valley de los Ingenios (The Sugar Mills Valley), in the seventeenth century this area was one of the most prosperous in Cuba thanks to the cultivation of sugar cane and its processing. The highlight of this place is the Iznaga Tower, which boasts a spectacular view of the valley. From the tower, due to its height, the Spanish settlers kept watch on the work of slaves on the plantations. Drive to Camaguey and transit visit to the city of Sancti Spiritus. Arriving in Camaguey, panoramic tour of the city, check inn and dinner at the hotel. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner included. Overnight in Camaguey.
Day 5 - Tuesday: Depart Camaguey – Bayamo - Santiago de Cuba
After breakfast you depart for Santiago de Cuba. On the way you visit Bayamo City Cuba's second oldest city founded by the spanish in 1513, a major hub for slave trade by the Spanish, the City still keeps its strong Afro Cuban culture. Bayamo is also the birthplace of the Cuban National Anthem. Lunch at a local Restaurant. Arrive to Santiago de Cuba and visit the Sanctuary of the "Virgin of Charity of el Cobre", one of the most important religious Sites in Cuba, among the offerings that lie on this Shrine you find Ernest Hemingway's Medal for his Nobel Prize of Literature. Your Guide will assist you with check in at your Hotel. Dinner at the Hotel. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner included. Overnight in Santiago de Cuba.
Day 6 - Wednesday: Santiago de Cuba
Breakfast at the Hotel. Today you start by visiting the Gran Piedra Natural Park, named after a huge monolithic rock of volcanic origin found at the highest point of the Sierra Maestra Mountain range. Most likely formed after the explosion of an underwater Volcano. This rock is also an observation point, with breathtaking views of landscapes of the surroundings. Continue to visit the Isabelica Coffee Plantation, these area was once settled by French Colonist who made it prosper with the development of the Coffee Industry, little remains of that period, the "Isabelica" now a Museum is one of the best samples of that time in history. Lunch at a local restaurant, and after continue your Tour of this very important City, visit the Fortress of San Pedro de la Roca del Morro, a great example of European military engineering dating back to the French Colonial times, declared an UNESCO site in 1997, Diego Velazque'z house one of the oldest examples of beautiful Andalusian- Moorish architecture in the Island.
Santa Ifigenia Cemetery where the remains of Jose Marti were laid to rest, Parque Cespedes at the heart of the City is this picturesque Plaza where you can see local people going on about their daily life, Cuartel Moncada (The Moncada Barracks) built by the Spanish in 1859 and made famous in 1953 when Fidel Castro attacked Batista's troops at the beginning of the Revolution. Enjoy the rest of the day at leisure. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner included. Overnight in Santiago de Cuba.
Day 7 - Thursday: Depart Santiago de Cuba to Havana
Breakfast at the Hotel. Your Guide will assist you with arrangements to fly to Havana. Upon arrival in Havana transfer to your Hotel.
Rest of the day at leisure. Breakfast included. Overnight in Havana.
Day 8 - Friday: Terrazas - Soroa
After breakfast depart for Las Terrazas Biosphere Reserve, an UNESCO protected site favorite with travelers looking for ecotourism. Here you can find activities like trekking, hiking, bird watching and more. The best part is to swim in Rio San Juan, a pristine stream that falls down the mountains on a series of waterfalls and deep pools. Visit the local Community of "Casa del Campesino" located within the same area, walk the main streets and interact with the local people. Lunch in a local restaurant. Continue to Soroa a Natural Reserve Park, visit the waterfall and the Orchid Gardens where you find hundreds of varieties of orchids. Walk around the grounds enjoying the views of the natural landscapes that the Park offers. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner included. Overnight in Soroa at a Hotel within the Park.
Day 9 - Saturday: Cayo Levisa - Viñales
After breakfast your guide will take you to Palma Rubia Port, for a trip to Cayo Levisa. This Cayo is only accessible by a thirty minute boat ride. Cayo Levisa is beautiful and pristine with white sand beaches and unspoiled coral reefs is a great place to snorkel or dive. Seafood Lunch included. Continue your Journey to Viñales. Viñales is a Town in the Province of Pinar del Rio, famous for the National park of the same name located in the Valley along the Sierra de los Organos. Upon Arrival the Guide will assist you with the Hotel check in. Dinner at the Hotel. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner included. Overnight in Viñales.
Day 10 - Sunday: Viñales – Havana
Breakfast at the Hotel. Today visit Viñales National Park, this Park is an UNESCO protected site, a place of great natural beauty with many species of endemic Flora and Fauna. Stop at the "Los Jazmines" Lookout from here you get great views of Viñales famous "Mogotes" (small hills with roundtops) and the many magnificent tobacco plantations. Lunch at a local restaurant. You also visit "La Casa del Veguero" where you learn about the local rural life of the people in the area, and the Mural de la Prehistoria an interesting Mural painted by a Cuban expert in caveman artistry. Depart for Havana. Upon arrival your Guide will assist you with check in at your Hotel. Diner at your own leisure. Breakfast and Lunch included. Overnight in Havana.
Day 11 - Monday: Havana – Tour Ends
After breakfast your Guide will assist you with your return home arrangements.
Havana City Tour: Explore the spanish colonial architecture of the City, visiting the National Capitol Building, The Great Theatre of Havana, "El Prado" Avenue, Central Park and the former Presidential Palace. Continue to the Vedado area admire the high end resorts overlooking the coastline, visit Havana University, The Revolution Square. Walk the famous "Malecon" 8 km along the coastline. And of course you need to go to the Old Havana, declared by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site in 1982, here you find Cathedral Square, San Francisco de Asis Square, the magnificent Arms Square, Villanueva Palace, The Rum Museum, and Handicrafts Palace.
