Veracruz Flights
Veracruz is Mexico's main port city and capital city of the state of Veracruz. The metropolitan area is the second largest on the Gulf Coast. The city has a population of 444,438 people living in the city. Veracruz is often referred to as Puerto de Veracruz to differentiate it from the state.
The city of Veracruz was founded by Hernan Cortez, the first one to land there from Spain in 1519 to start off the conquest of Mexico. The four time heroic city of Veracruz defended its invasion in many occasions against France, the United Stated and the expulsion of the Spaniards in 1815.
There is live music all the time, good food and a Carnival attitude all year long, that projects happiness, liveliness that is contagious. The city is known for its musical traditions, marimba bands, danzon and comparsa as well as the son jarocho.
