The Bahamas are a necklace shaped archipelago of some 700 coral formed islands as well as cays which cover more than 100,000 miles of aquamarine waters. All persons entering the Bahamas from the US must have a passport or other accepted document that establishes the bearer's identity and nationality. American nationals will not be re-admitted into the U.S. with only a birth certificate and government issued photo I.D. The Bahamian dollar is on par with the US dollar, and is freely interchanged. There is electricity available on the island, and there are many options for restaurants ranging from local cuisine to French, Italian and Mexican cuisine. Some popular sightseeing destinations include the Hope Town light house, the Exuma Land and Sea Park, as well as The Dolphin Experience on Grand Bahama Island.
