The only documents couples will need to get married in the Dominican Republic are original birth certificates and valid passports as well as documents proving marital status. The period of time needed to be in the country before the ceremony varies with each hotel, so couples should check with the wedding planner or hotel officials. Two witnesses with valid passports that are not blood related are also required at the ceremony.
