Until recently, Greeks used to hate this city, very expensive to live in, polluted and overcrowded. All that changed after the 2004 summer Olympics, the city had to make changes to its infrastructure and the city got back the confidence of its residents to live in a city that keeps making changes for the better. It is not only good for its residents but for tourism as well.

The changes brought to the city make of this city today a more walkable, liveable, exciting, artistic and cultural centers in the world. With new infrastructure that helps divert traffic from downtown, the city now is safer and gets cleaner air; it is now easier to get in and out of downtown by car, bus or taxi.

Restaurants, taverns, clubs, cafes and bars stay open later now, if you want some quiet time, there are parks and quiet neighbourhoods where you can stay. Athens is entertaining anytime of the year with many things to offer, Athens has something for everyone.

Main places you can visit include, Benaki Museum, Greek Folk Art Museum, Marathon Battlefield and Burial Mound, the Monastery of Daphni, the National Gallery, the Museum of Popular Greek Instruments, the National Archaeological Museum, and of course The Acropolis.
